Tuesday leads at 22% of the collection days served to homes in the last 30 days. Saturday collection is real but rare (4%). A home with two days a week counts on both.

When people check
64% of checks happen the day before (37%) or the morning of (27%) the home’s trash day. Monday is the busiest day to check (25%), and the busiest hour is around 6 pm.
What comes with the trash day
Of the homes that got a verified trash day, these shares also got a published day for another service. 29% of homes with recycling have it on the same day as trash; the rest get it on a different day.
When carts go out
Among cities that publish a set-out deadline, 47% say carts must be at the curb by 7 am, and 34% by 6 am. Your city’s own rule is on its page.
How many collection days a city runs
In most cities the day depends on your street, not your city: 44% of cities run four collection days across their routes, and 28% run three. Only 1% collect everywhere on one day.

A city appears in a ranking, a chart or a list only once enough different homes have been checked there, and shares from a small city are rounded. Nothing here identifies an address, a street or a person; the day you see on your own result is yours alone.
