TrashDayNow is built to make collection schedules easier to understand without pretending local data is more complete than it is. Here is how an address becomes a result.
Start with the property
Schedules are local—even within one city.
A city name or ZIP code is often not specific enough to determine a collection day. Routes can change by block, district, property type, or service provider, so TrashDayNow begins with a complete street address.
The address is resolved to the location information needed by the connected schedule source. We do not publish a pickup day when that source cannot verify one for the property.
Address search and geocoding are powered by Esri's ArcGIS location services.
Scope
Use the city, state, and location returned for that specific property.
Verify
Return only collection information supported by the connected source.
Keep the evidence close
Every answer should show where it came from.
A schedule is more useful when you can inspect the authority behind it. Results identify the local collection source used and link back to it whenever a source URL is available.
Trash, recycling, organics, yard waste, and bulk collection are treated as separate services. A verified day for one service is never copied onto another.

After an address lookup, residents can confirm a result, suggest a different regular day, or contribute a day when no verified schedule is available. The flow is designed to take only a few taps.
One report never changes a schedule. We look for consistent feedback from multiple residents and review it before showing an update. Any update applies only to the matching property and collection service.

Property eligibility
Not every address in a city uses the same collection system.
One city can contain municipal routes, private haulers, apartment or HOA service, and properties outside the local collection program. A nearby home may have a different provider or schedule.
When the connected source identifies a property as outside its service area, the result says so. When we cannot make a reliable address match, we leave the pickup day unverified and point you to the available local source.
