Texas City, TX trash pickup: who collects.

The City of Texas City provides automated garbage collection through a contract with Waste Connections of Texas (WCT), and every home receives a 96-gallon roll cart; residents outside the City's water distribution system set up a Garbage Only Account with the City's Utility Billing Department to keep receiving trash collection (trash service questions: 409-643-5810).

The City's Schedules page posts its 2026 Residential Garbage Collection Route Map, which divides the City into areas with two garbage days a week each (Monday and Thursday, Tuesday and Friday, or Wednesday and Saturday) and a bulky-item day for each area.

Texas City has a rule of its own. The city's published rule: Garbage is not collected on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your collection day falls on one of these holidays, your garbage is collected on your next regularly scheduled collection day. The City notes that the waste company has the option to collect on a holiday.
